Tartar Sauce (American Style)

There are a million and one ways to make Tartar Sauce. This "American style" recipe uses the basic mayo, lemon and pickle, and adds a little onion and Dijon mustard for a kick. Definitely great for fried seafood!

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 C Mayonnaise
  • 3 Tbsp Sweet or Dill Relish or Very Finely Diced Pickle
  • 1 Tbsp Minced White or Yellow Onion
  • 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 tsp Dijon Mustard Optional
  • Salt and Pepper to Taste

Instructions
 

  • Mix everything together in a bowl and chill for at least an hour.
    1/2 C Mayonnaise, 3 Tbsp Sweet or Dill Relish, 1 Tbsp Minced White or Yellow Onion, 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice, 1/2 tsp Dijon Mustard, Salt and Pepper to Taste
  • Serve with fried fish, shrimp, oysters, or any other fried seafood. Try it with hushpuppies and fried too.
