How to Soup Up Store Bought Ranch
I love ranch dressing, but sometimes the flavored oil companies bottle up and call "ranch" gets a little old. When I can't make the fresh stuff, I like to soup up the store bought stuff with other flavors. Here are four of my favorites: buffalo, parmesan peppercorn, dill pickle and salsa.
Equipment
- Normal Kitchen Utensils
Ingredients
- For Buffalo Ranch
- 1/4 C Ranch Dressing
- 1 Tbsp Buffalo Style Hot Sauce
- For Parmesan Peppercorn Ranch
- 1/4 C Ranch Dressing
- 2 tsp Grated Parmesan Cheese
- 1 tsp Fresh Cracked Pepper
- For Dill Pickle Ranch
- 1/4 C Ranch Dressing
- 1 Tbsp Dill Pickle Relish Or Finely Chopped Dill Pickle
- For Salsa Ranch
- 1/4 C Ranch Dressing
- 1 Tbsp Salsa
Instructions
- For each variation of ranch, mix the ingredients together and serve when ready. It's that simple!
Notes
If you really want to amp up the flavor, you can double the added ingredients (i.e. 2 Tbsp of hot sauce instead of 1).
I have noticed that adding acidity or spice to bottled ranch helps cut through its oiliness and semi sweetness.
There are many more combinations to improve store bought ranch, but these are some of my favorites. Hopefully they will suit your fancy too.
If you’ve never made ranch dressing from scratch, give it a try here. It sure beats the bottled stuff, and it’s good souped up too!
